INTRODUCTION

Australia is one of the most beautiful continents in the world  with pink lakes, vertical cliffs and sprawling beaches packed with Kangaroos. I have always remained a great admirer of the scenic beauty of Australia and visiting that place is one of the topmost items on my bucket list. However, with the Pandemic Covid-19 playing the spoilsport for more than two years now, international tourism has received a heavy blow. AUSTRALIAN TOURISM IN 2022 is a different scenario .

For now, Australia is allowing visitors only from Singapore, New Zealand, South Korea and Japan. International students and skilled workers are also allowed entry. Following the discovery of Omicron, the hugely contagious variant of Coronavirus, the authorities have imposed more stringent restrictions. Infact, according to the latest news Australia, the reopening of Western Australia on February 5 has been postponed indefinitely to allow residents to receive the booster shots. For many interested travellers like me, it’s an unfortunate news but it does not appear that Australia will be reopening her international borders for tourism anytime in the near future.

WHEN IS THE BEST TIME TO VISIT AUSTRALIA?

Though currently, the borders of Australia are sealed, we can gather the required information regarding travelling to Australia. This will keep us informed, so that when we finally get to travel, we have all the necessary information regarding Australian Tourism.
However the temperature and climate are important considerations when planning your trip. Therefore, do consider peak seasons, spectacular wildlife events and exciting festivals that could influence your decisions regarding when to visit Australia. Spring (September to November) and Autumn  ( March to May) are among the best times to travel the entire country.

Summer ( December to February ) is the most expensive time to travel Australia, with high demands increasing the price of flights and accommodations. The winter season (June to August), also called the low season, is the best period with the least tourist. Thus if I want to keep my expenses low, this is right time as the flights are cheaper and I can ensure good deals on accommodation.

VISA REQUIREMENTS FOR TRAVELLING TO AUSTRALIA:

Like most other countries you will need to get a visitor visa when travelling to Australia. As an Indian applicant, it is significant to understand the Australia visa requirements before applying. The documentation or paper work differs from one visa category to the other. I am providing some basic information below, regarding Australian tourist visa :-

Firstly , The visa fees is Rs 8306/ per person.
Moreover , visa processing time varies between 10     to 15 days .
However Depending on the agent, there will be an additional visa processing charge of Rs 2000 + 15% GST.
An original passport that has validity for 6 months from the date of journey.
A duly filled and signed visa application form.
Two recently take photos on a white background  ( Size 35×45mm).

These apart .

A copy of Adhaar card or PAN card .

Original bank statements for the last six months .

A copy of Form 16/ Income tax for three years.

CURRENCY-RELATED RULES FOR VISITING AUSTRALIA:

There is no set limit to the amount of physical currency that may be brought into or taken out of Australia. Entering or departing Australia, must declare cash in Australian and foreign currency, if combined value is $10,000 or more. Before travelling to Australia, you can also exchange your currency . Ensure best rates and will allow you to avoid the pain of having to deal with the exchange fees on your arrival .
